MATH U101 · Narrated walkthrough · Module 4 §14.4
The chain rule as a tree, from scratch
A narrated lesson that builds the several-variable chain rule from “rates multiply”, then solves Tutorial 6 Q3, Q4 and Q5 with it. Press play, keep the sound on, and answer the four questions it stops to ask you.
About seven minutes, watch once. The narration stops four times to ask what the next move is. Commit to an answer before it continues: those pauses are the point, because they practise starting a question, not following one. Captions are on by default; the full transcript is below the player.
Redo Q3 and Q4 on paper without looking, then check against the written solutions in the tutorial companion. The rule itself, with more examples, is in the Module 4 notes; the slow first-time version is the Module 4 lesson (§ chain rule).
