MATH U113 · Narrated walkthrough · Module 1 §2.4

Bayes as areas, from the first move

A short narrated lesson on 2026 mid-sem Q6(a), the two-machines question. Press play, keep the sound on, and answer the three questions it stops to ask you.

How to use this

About five minutes, watch once. It acts out the four opening moves (letters, givens, target, formula) and then shows Bayes as a picture: a square of all chips, the defective slices, and a zoom into “we know it's defective”. The narration stops three times to ask for your next move. Commit to an answer before it continues. Captions are on by default; the full transcript is below the player.

After watching

The same four moves are written up in how to start: opening 5, chips from two machines, and drilled on fresh questions in the start drill. The full written solution of Q6, including part (b) with the same shape, is on the past-papers page. For the rules themselves: Module 1 notes.
