BITS U103 · Narrated walkthrough · Engineering graphics · missing lines

Practice B4, one feature at a time

The block with a slot, a corner notch and a back tunnel, from practice problem B4. Instead of hunting for gaps, this walkthrough reads the object first, finds the front edge of each view, and then takes each feature round all three views. Every missing line turns up on its own. Press play, keep the sound on, and answer the three questions it stops to ask.

How to use this

About four minutes, watch once (⏮ ⏭ replay a scene). It stops three times to ask where a line goes. Commit to an answer before it continues. Captions are on; the full transcript is below the player.

The routine to take into the exam

1. Name the features from the isometric: the block, then each cut. 2. Find the front edge of each view (in this layout: the bottom of the top view, the right of the left view). 3. Take each feature round all three views: where does it show, and is it visible (full line) or behind material (dashed)? Then try B3 the same way, and see first angle vs third angle if the front edges are confusing.
